The issue with the Aqara U100, is you can't easily rekey the damn thing. They made it so that no other cylinder locks can easily fit in and the key pins are a unique length.

I've really enjoyed this over all the other solutions I've tried. Homekey has worked well, and the finger and keypad entry options are wonderful.

The auto lock has been a bit fussy, I believe it's gyro or accelerometer-based, and I've found it likes to start locking before the door is fully seated on the threshold.

It did take me way too long to realize that the bottom of the lock slid down to reveal a traditional tumbler lock. This can be both a pro and con, though I feel like if someone's picking my locks I've got bigger issues.

Fun tip from me, I actually prefer things that run off AA versus rechargeable batteries (mice, flashlights, remotes, etc.) becauee I have a lot of rechargabe AA/AAA's. I swear I'll never have to buy batteries again LOL.

One thing that no one talks about in these reviews is that for a lot of the automations you need the international Aqara bridge setup for a lot of the remote stuff to work properly.

I have it and I absolutely love it, especially the homekit integration. Just hold your iPhone/watch up to it and it unlocks. I don’t know how secure the locking mechanism is but I have a second lock either way for when I’m out longer/overnight.

Quick question: what happens if you travel and the batteries die? What is the backup plan to make it work?

I always love seeing automated homes, but as someone in IT I'd never want any smart-fixures. No judgement on anyone that does, funny enough I don't keep a password on my phone. It really comes down to the person's own personal policy on these things.

Have you never watched LPL? That keypad is going to show your key code within a month unless you change it weekly.

Any chance we’ll see a release in the UK? Been waiting for the level lock but this looks like the next best thing

Love to get a update later on for the auto lock feature as well as how adjustable is the time settings for it, I have a eufy lock and it loses the calibration frequently and defaults to 2 minute auto lock

The main issue with Aqara is that Aqara is well… a Chinese company

Bought one of the buttons at Best Buy and the listing did not indicate that it needs its own proprietary hub separate from HomeKit 😪
Returned it

What happens if the battery dies? Does it have a jumpstart option like schlage and Yale? Otherwise it's completely useless.

So what do you do when the batteries no longer work lol are you still able to unlock your door?

Does this lock work with Home Assistant? And can it be internet free? How hard is it to configure that?
