Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday (local time) addressed members of the US Congress. He said, “Against all odds, and doom and gloom, Ukraine did not fall. Ukraine is alive and kicking. ”He also said that the investment made in Ukraine to fight the Russian invasion was not “charity” but “investment” in global security. He said, “Your money is not charity. It is an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in most responsible way. ”It is to be noted that, the Biden administration on Wednesday (local time) announced that it will provide USD 1.85 billion in military aid to Ukraine, rolling out funding for a Patriot missile battery during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Washington.

No actually it's a debt not an investment. According to the Lend-lease, the US charges for everything supplied to Ukraine albeit at a discount. Just imagine under the same Lend-Lease program the aid given to the UK during WW2 was finally paid off on Dec 29th, 2006 with the final payment, now just imagine how many decades will Ukrainians be paying off to US for the supplies provided to them. Sure US can give them a massive discount and write off the whole debt but will they?
