Good idea having it mounted at eye level

I used to have one similar to this and i found that no matter how precisely adjusted it was, it was kinda wasteful in terms of how much metal it took off the teeth. Good for putting a new edge on heavily damaged chains though

Hand file only. The teeth will stay sharper longer. This takes the temper outta the steel and makes it softer. Which means teeth dull way faster

I like how it's eye level you can't see the ruined chain after being blinded.

As a controls engineer I have thought many tines about designing one, but not as simple as this one. This is a bang repeat machine with hard stops.

The saw that uses this "Grind-a-matic" chain will ALLWAYS cut a "Left arc", because the Chrome is BURNED a Great invention for Selling New chains.

Honestly there’s nothing more peaceful than using a hand file to get that nice point on your chain before every use

Man, you can spend three minutes with a file and have a sharp ass chain all the time, or use this thing and have no chain in no time at all!

Sharpening by Hand will ever be the best method (if you can handle a file an hold an angle)

I still prefer to use a round file cause I can actually control how much material I take off ensuring that my chains last longer than a single use.

Id like to see the finished result. If its turning the teeth purple from heat, itl be impossible to sharpen with a file out in the field.

I prefer hand sharpening. Saw work to me is an art form. It should be experienced with muscle memory
