it's clearer. not asd much background noise or white noise as the other one. do you have volume and gain controls on that camera for the audio? (never actually messed with that one so i really am not totally sure) but if you do a little boost on that and your golden because the sound that is coming through is coming through well.

Sounds great. I just got a zi8 and am shopping around forthe best external mic in my price range. Why do they make the cords so short? I wish I could afford a bluetooth mic. In the near future I hope.

Wow the quality is indeed amazing, and the shoot is great too, good job. Although I'm looking for something smaller (to be attached to a smartphone), because the sound recorded along with the video on a galaxy s2 smartphone is distorted and horrible, so I don't even have one proper recording of any of my live performances (singing live) so far. The zoom is definitely an option when I have the budget for it, but for now, any cheaper/smaller alternatives?

@Chawman well like i said it's still clear i turned my volume way up and didn't hear white noise hiss popping or anything when i listened to it so what you have is good still.

Does it record well in recording loud sounds? (at parties or concerts)

Do you notice the left and right stereo recording? Or feel it is better than the mono me52? :-)

i just got this a week ago and ive been recording a sound track for an up coming cartoon i get a low whistle sound when i use it. does anyone else have this problem? i think its my computer but i havent found a mic to test with
