Awesome job on the video Brooks! It was really fun meeting up with you and getting to drive your Model 3 Performance. Can't wait to meet up at the track sometime and do more. Thanks!

It's actually a pretty nice strategy. There is not a word on the Tesla web site about this upgrade, because they obviously want you to consider the M3P. But after you purchased the M3LR, you showed that you were not willing to shell out $8k extra for the entire performance package, so how about going halfway to the M3P in pure acceleration for $2k? Some of those (us) that were not willing to pay the extra $8k for the M3P might very well pay $2k for the Acceleration Boost upgrade, and Tesla gets some extra cash.

I have a Model 3 Dual motor and I did indeed add the $2000 speed upgrade. I can notice a tremendous increase in speed, I'm really not a speed demon type of driver, just wanted to add the option while available.

This channel shoes the numbers and the race. Straight to the point. Nice video

Love your channel. You’re the only guy I trust reporting Tesla performance.

I don't understand why, at 8:21, the gray had a sudden acceleration and deceleration. Does this mean that the gray was not at its maximum power ???

This is the video that many of us Tesla owners have been waiting for, so THANK YOU! Many of us LR AWD (non-performance) owners love how fast our cars are, but deep down we do have "P" envy. That's right...performance envy is a real thing. Now there's a pill for that, and it will only cost us $2k.

As a Performance 3 owner. I would like/hope to at least see launch control coming to us.

I would like to see Tesla release a $2000 acceleration boost upgrade on the performance model to make it even faster and bring it to 3s or under

The boost upgraded Long range Dual Motor seems like a winner to me, The only additional upgrade I would want from the Performance are the bigger brakes.

I like the quiet. I have worked in wharehouses and factories. Constant noise is aggravating. Noise does not bring me joy

What model year Model 3 Performance did Brooks have?

Could you do the same video for two AWD versions with one with and the other without the 2000$ option? Thanks :)

Great video. The dual motor with the $2000 upgrade is a real sleeper. If I were to buy, it would be the dual with the better brakes, etc. I wish they would offer something like that with the long range RWD that I have.

Great test spot I use with dragy tests is to magnetize it to the back edge of the wiper arm. Strong satellite signals and the most consistent elevation curves I get at the same location.

I have a 2020 Model 3 AWD LR, this video is enticing me to click that $2000 upgrade, but does it decrease my range from 322 to 299 like the Performance Model 3?

Great channel always straight to the point and then to the discussion. I think Tesla have again made a perfect move to keep their reputation up there. For $2000 if you want move performance on the long range 3 its a great deal. You can envisage other performance upgrade paths such as Ludicrous 3 maybe at the same time as Plaid S to keep the product placement gaps but its win, win, win ! I bought a P85 MS in 2014 and soon after came the duel motor, so you feel a bit like you should have waited but then Tesal upgraded the P85 and you soon forget anyway and think hell they are all brilliant. I think Tesla listen to owners and if there is an undercurrent of dissatisfaction or need they respond with upgrades or offers. Why wouldn't they? Everyone wins. And to my mind they also update the charging algorithms tweaking the performance / charging characteristics of the battery. Tesla have the data and the technology to continuously improve the ownership experience even years after purchase, no wonder we love these cars every time we drive them, even 5 years later.

Took me this long to find that video, I've been curious about this for more than a year.
I'm afraid this confirms everyone's suspicion, the Long Range with boost is too close to the Performance.
If you factor in the compromise on comfort with those wheels/suspensions and the 10K premium over the Long Range I can't see any reason to buy a Performance anymore.
