How can a software tester use snippets for API requests in Postman

15 students who solve real life tasks of a software tester.
A mentor with strictly 10+ years of IT experience who guides, helps and checks the results.

Lilia Urmazova: “If a tester has no time or not enough qualification for a full-fledged automation, snippets functionality in Postman could help. Snippets are pre-defined small chunks of Java Script code, helping testers to create a very simple semi-automation of their API tests.
In this workshop, we try to use snippets for a POST method, creating a passenger in an online ticket booking application.
Typical error of snippet usage:
- Unclear names of tests. When you prepare a single test, you should always remember that your test could just be a part of a large test suite, and every test name should be "talking".
- Non-atomic tests. On the one hand, it is faster to include several checks in one method, but on the other hand, one test should perform only one check, and this rule is not only for manual, but also for automated tests.”

👨💻 After online lectures it's hard to find a first job - because employers don't want “listeners”, they want “practitioners”.
So no online lectures. Only practical workshops.
At each of these practical workshops you work like on a real IT project.
In a group of 15 students and in mini-groups of 3-5 students, you perform the tasks of a software tester - analyze, look for options, discuss with your classmates.
A mentor, just like a leader of a real IT project, helps you figure out which solution is good and which can be improved.
This is how you acquire practical skills that your future employer needs.
This is how you get your first IT job faster.
