Visiting Cyprus in November | The Beautiful Stone Church Built in 1883 in Peyia, Paphos District
The beautiful church of Peyia, dedicated to The Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple, was built in 1883 out of rough stone. It celebrates its Saints Day on November 21st. The church is located very close to the town square and the Town Hall of Peyia. Due to its hillside location, the square surrounding the stone church of Peyia offers visitors and locals views over Coral Bay and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
Peyia (Pegeia) is a picturesque town about 14 kilometres outside of Paphos along the coast, located near the Coral Bay with an elevation of approximately 200 metres. Peyia is the second largest municipality in the Paphos district with over 4,000 residents. It has a large British population. Due to its natural geography, the village offers stunning views of both the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains.
