Cosmically it's just down the street from Earth.

The artist concept of this planet make it look like an eyeball

Mere 49 light years good I’ll walk there

What’s neat about it is, if we sent someone there who’s traveling in a ship going as close to lightspeed as possible. It would take them approximately 50 years to arrive. We could send an AI robot there who won’t have to worry about forgetting their mission And tell them to beam back information once they arrive. If equipped with everything it needs and certain protocols for when it becomes damaged it could repair itself and exist there for a long time telling us of it’s discoveries. That’s just a dream though but not so far out of our reach!

A mear 49 light years, 1 light year about 55 trillion mile, there's a comparison, a mear indeed.

If there are no mosquito's, I'll be happy to go there

With so many stars and solar systems, not only in our own galaxy, but also the endless count of others the possibility of us being alone is very slim. The chances of other habitable and advanced civilizations is insanely good.

A habitable exo planet that may have extraterrestrial life on it is interesting. Unfortunately it's so far away that it would take a 1000 generations with our fastest rocket to get there.

JWST is just remarkable - from its inception, launch, perfect deployment at Lagrange Point 2, & its operational data feedback. It has taken space exploration further than could have been hoped for. Truly magnificent.

The moment you hear "super earth" life should be out of the picture.

It may have disappeared 49 years ago and we don’t know yet.

This discovery is exciting!!!
Do we yet know if the planet is tidally locked?

One step closer indeed. Yet alone with my humanity do I reside. My hopes, my dreams, my cats, we orbit. Is there more? I ask. Though fleeting are my thoughts, persistent the idea.

Stay safe everyone! Happy Friday!

We couldn't possibly be alone. But it remains a mystery ❤🌹

I very much dislike when even "experts" try to say something like "it's in the habitable zone" or "has a nitrogen enriched atmosphere like ours". We, as in the creatures on this earth, adapted and evolved because of what was going on as this planet came to be. Who's to say life couldn't evolve and live in hotter or colder planets outside of the area we think to be the "habitable" area.

"Are we alone?"

Of course not.

Let's go! When are we booking passenger trips?

When are we going to be able to actually see whatever photos James Webb has? Other than the couple from when it first went out? Why can’t we see them?! Or where are they?
Truly fascinating and I want to see!
