i found the area of both larger rectangles, getting 40 and 36; adding them sums to 76. but because both rectangles contain the overlapping central rectangle of area 6, we must subtract it twice from our sum of 76 units. accounting for this, the area of the green equals 76 - 2(6) = 64!

My way of solution ▶

A-1: the area of the rectangular-1
= a+b
a is the green part
b is the yellow part

A-2: the area of the rectangular-2
= b+c
c is the green part
b is the yellow part

Agreen= A-1 + A-2 - 2*b
= (a+b)+(b+c) -2b
= a+c+2b-2b
= a+c
Agreen= a+c

A-1= 5*8
= 40 square units

A-2= 4*9
= 36 square units

Ab= 2*3
= 6 square units

Agreen= A-1 + A-2 - 2b ⬆
= 40+36-2*6
= 76-12
Agreen= 64 square units ✅

El solapo es igual al área verde que tiene debajo.
Área verde =5*8+(9-3)4=64
Saludos.
