Brink review

I'm really enjoying Brink so far. The lag issues and lack of a multiplayer lobby system must be addressed though. For a game that relies on it's multiplayer so heavily, these lag issues are a gamebreaker.

@Claverleykid1 you have to listen to the audio logs in the dossier section. They tell you everything you need to do.

@BRavens27 Yeah its in june, It free because the developers probably intended to release it with the game but it got rushed out to make up for development costs. While I am enjoying the game and intend to play it for sometime. I just feel its odd they took the time to make this world all interesting and not explore it, maybe they will in future DLC, who knows. Dont say the audio diaires are exploration. They dont count :P

the problem isn't with the game itself (other than lag and other minor details) the problem is with players expecting brink to be something it just isn't . Players are used to seeing games where the story is thrust in your face, Brink isn't this kind of game the story is told more like the Doom 3 story. A bulk of the story is given to you so you get a rough idea then you pick up audio logs to hear bits of the story that arnt just given to you. in short YOUR EXPECTING TF2 TO BE FF7 thats it!

THERE IS GONNA BE DLC. if you go to kotaku there is news sent out by bethesda. there is going to be dlc coming out in june. they are coming out with 8 new multiplayer only maps and 2 new campaign only maps. PLUS 5 new weapons and the lag will be permanantly fixed. AND ITS FREE

@arachlyco More or less. But I don't think Unreal Tournament games were ever touted as having integrated single- and multi-player, which would imply a distinct single-player campaign that somehow ties into the multiplayer aspect. I for one never played UT expecting a deep and engrossing story.

@Xistanceowner Hello, u may note i said that 2 weeks ago, I have since learnt and friend, on splash damage.com it says only 2 multiplayer maps and new perks weapon attachements, raised levele cap and new clothing. but thanks for informing me in a condecending manor, most refreshing:)

@FaUsT491 Well yeah, while interesting there in a side menu and I have to sit there and listen. Yeah they are well acted but thats not what i wanted out of a story. In bioshock they worked cause u were in the world and the enviroment told the story and the audio diaries gave backstory. This was simply a 20 second cutscene at the start if every mission saying what had to be done in that missions with no name characters. There should have been a normal campaign which could have had a great story.

While im having a great time with this game, I feel its a bit cheap the developers have cominded single player and multiplayer. I Story is not there at all. All that talk the developers gave about it really got me interested. While the premise is cool I would have much rather have had a normal single player with this mulitiplayer. That way characters and story could have been involved rather than a cutscene at the start of a match. A great game but its a small one, DLC would be good

It's rather silly whenever someone talks about how one FPS game is a rip off of another FPS game.

I have two points I raise in response.
1: Nihil novi sub sole. Nothing new under the sun
2: It's a AAA game, of course it's a rip off of something. The last thing AAA producer want is to take a risk by innovating.

This game isent for the biginners its for someone who wants a real challengeable singleplayer and not a kill 100 people in notime without even dieing once which is what bf is like so brink is awsome unless you are a beginner thats just starting his skills in fps.it rocks if you hate brink that means you are a no skilled gamer.
