Why SteamOS? It just doesn't make sense to take a Desktop Machine without discrete Graphics Card to be changed to a gaming machine.
Iris is fine, but a Nvidia/Amd Cards are better...

What makes the Brix the next generation of desktops? Thought it had laptop components e.g. SODIMM memory, integrated gpu and low-power cpu's found in ultrabooks... Is the Brix offering different kind of hardware this time around?

If Gigabyte Brix Pro would have better cooling that does not emulate jet take off, i would already own at least one.
I love the idea, but the noise is deal breaker.

But how is this a desktop. The components are all notebook types. 
Just bring along a Macbook Pro. That has Iris graphics too...
