You can get round this as well by remembering that Blackburn's story is a lie. He says he shot down hundreds of triplanes, two airships, and then jumped to safety...or, he stole a plane, killed the co-pilot when it crashed, and then escaped from prison during an air raid. Which sounds more plausible? It's why I love this set of missions!

A little tip for this mission if you point you nose up whil underneath the airship and control your throttle just right you can hover there and shoot rockets while the airship cant shoot you at all.
