Nottingham Forest have good reason to be optimistic, squad looks strong and no FFP, 14th sounds right

I feel fulham are brutally underrated this season. The difference between us getting a top half finish was only a few games and an unfortunate loss of momentum. I think fulhams gunna be great next season

Can’t wait for weekly premier league predictions to return 🥳

About Arsenal, last season, they finished 2nd probably due to the games they dropped points, they were unbeaten against the 'Big 6' teams (6 wins and 4 draws), but I think the 2 losses against Aston Villa coupled with just 1 point in 2 games against Fulham actually cost them the Premier League title. I would say the losses against Aston Villa were more "understandable" than just 1 point against Fulham. If they can sort out their record against much inferior opponents, I think they could stop Manchester City from winning 5 in a row. My prediction is that it will only be decided on goal difference or even further tiebreaker criterias.

Brentford going down is crazy tho never doubt Brentford and Thomas frank and also soph predicting Southampton to stay up is crazy as well Southamptons attack is less threatening than a puppy

I think Newcastle will finish above MU, Brentford won't go down

As a Brentford supporter I have fears for this season. We struggled last season but in the end were helped by the three that came up being so weak. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but do understand why you put us in the bottom three.

1. Arsenal (it pains me to say it but they can take that final step)
2. Man City (they got that 4th title on the spin and made history, but are the players still hungry?)
3. Newcastle (a season without Europe and less injuries will do wonders for them)
4. Liverpool (I expect a slight dropoff in the first season under Arne Slot)
5. Tottenham (injuries cost us last season)
6. Man Utd (surely they cannot be that bad again, but not convinced by ETH)
7. Aston Villa (just like Newcastle, CL will cost them points)
8. Chelsea (is Maresca really a better coach/manager than Pochettino? That gamble could backfire)
9. Crystal Palace (even without Olise I believe in the Glasner effect)
10. Brighton (difficult to predict with a rookie manager but they have a good squad)
11. West Ham (mid-table is a sure bet I think)
12. Bournemouth (have a defined style of play which suits them and which can hurt teams)
13. Brentford (judged by the squad they have now they'll score enough goals to stay out of trouble)
14. Nottingham Forest (improved squad and no points deduction)
15. Ipswich (good signings, McKenna and continuity will see them survive)
16. Wolves (a lack of goals could cost them in games but they should still have enough)
17. Everton (I'm not convinced by their style of play and sometimes lack of goals. They'll be in trouble again)

18. Fulham (they do not look as strong as the past two seasons)
19. Leicester (no money for improvements, losing good players and an incoming points deduction )
20. Southampton (Russell Martin = Nathan Jones. A slightly naive defensive playing style could spell trouble)

If we've gotten to a point where newly promoted teams are almost automatically predicted to go back down, there's something seriously wrong with the game. It's not about 'The League' anymore, it's about the same 3 or 4 teams to win it, the newly promoted teams to drop again, and everyone else somewhere in the middle.

As a Southampton fan I really hope we prove everyone wrong, but I am also very sceptical. Also W Sophie

Loving your reasoning for Villa not dropping off, or at least not by much. One of the only (non-Villa) outlets who are not using the lazy ‘but look what happened to Newcastle’ comparison (which just isn’t a thing, for so many reasons!) You know what you’re looking at or, at the very least, have done you’re research. Respect. Great video guys. Easiest like and subscribe ever. Keep it up. 👊🏻

Newcastle have got pope back so their defence will be stronger again. Plus Isak/Gordon are on fire atm. They could easily buy some big names too so I am expecting them to be dark horses this season

Premier league predictions (unless major manager appointments/signings before first kickoff):
1. Arsenal
2. Man City
3. Tottenham
4. Newcastle
5. Liverpool
6. Aston Villa
7. Man United
8. Brighton
9. Chelsea
10. West Ham
11. Crystal Palace
12. Brentford
13. Bournemouth
14. Nottingham Forest
15. Everton
16. Wolves
17. Southampton
18. Leicester City
19. Fulham
20. Ipswich Town

Could be completely wrong about Wolves - they could finish closer to midtable. Could also swap Southampton and Ipswich.

I do think we still have the quality to finish in the top 4 again but we do need new incomings like a new CDM if we want to be in a title race again but if were being realistic finishing in the top 4 would be a good first season for Arne Slot

This season I think I like Matt's predictions more than Sophie's
