I always stayed at Disney. I know that paying almost $200 for a motel like room ( the value resorts) was expensive, but I justified it because we usually got the free dining plan, we were able to get fast passes, the free transportation, and the extra magic hours ( in the evening) were worth it. Now, nothing like this is available except the Disney transport system ( and they are getting rid of the Magical Express). So I will stay outside on my next Disney vacation. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Value hotels at Walt Disney World are absolutely great choices and I'm surprised how people frown about them. Yes, they're delightfully tacky, goofy, and bright, which is their charm.

11:11 I have NEVER paid $400/night at the Swan and Dolphin, let alone $473+, more like $250-$300.
They have 25% discounts for teachers, police, fire fighters, and annual passholders.
The location is perfect, and as AJ said, you get all of the benefits of the Deluxe resorts.

As teachers we always got a huge discount at swan and dolphin. Make sure you ask about this perk. The transportation by boat was so fast and we walked to the Boardwalk for fun and food. Wonderful hotels. Our last trip with just the two of us we loved CBR (Skyliner is worth every penny) and got a $500+ discount by watching for deals.

My son (teenager) and I are doing a quick 2 day trip in January and are planning to spend open to close in the parks....just need a place to lay our heads at night. Booked AS Music for $108 a night. I don't think it gets much cheaper than that!

I am beyond grateful for the seller who sold me their small point DVC contact. These snall contracts don't come around often. Now I have a DVC membership paid in full and 20 years of memories to look forward to.

Gosh, the price of hotel rooms at Disney! Kinda takes my breath away - even the "cheap" rooms are expensive.
For the cost of two nights at a basic room at the Contemporary, we're going on a 5-day cruise in the Caribbean, staying in a balcony room on Royal Caribbean next year. That includes food and entertainment, which isn't included at Disney. I'm so glad we live 20 minutes away from WDW but my heart really goes out to folks who are traveling and paying for a hotel room. I understand that they can stay off property, but when you want to immerse yourself in the Disney experience, I guess you just have to take a deep breath, close your eyes, and hand over the credit card.

We stayed off property for 6 nights and paid 1500 hundred dollars. This includes daily fees and deposits.
We stayed at B Resort and Spa, got access to the magic hour and spent maybe 100 dollars TOTAL using Uber when we didn’t take the free shuttle offered (to and from the parks) and we always walked to Disney springs (12 min walk)

$220 is value? Universal rooms start at $91

We always stay at Beach Club. While it was pricey, we really liked the added benefit of getting to pick our fast passes early. I don’t see that benefit anymore with the new system and it seems at this point staying at a Disney resort has lost some of its luster as far as perks

I always stay at one of the All Star resorts! I think they are super nice since they have been updated! I will say if I had 4 people in there, in my opinion, it could be a little tight. BUT this would depend on your family! (2 adults, 2 kids with luggage and a stroller would be a little cramped). I feel the same for 4 adults, but definitely a great place to stay! I don’t spend much time in my room so I’d rather save some money on the room and spend it at the parks and FOOD! 😁

If you are flexible, especially on dates/times of year, Dave's DVC rental was great. We got into Grand Floridian for a week for much, much discounted room rates.

Used to stay at Boardwalk.
Now even to park car at resort cost lots of money.
Soon they will charge to breath the air there.

That phone was in the Contemporary Resort rooms when I was there in the 80's!

We use the military discounts when ever we can. This helps and when you want to go also makes a huge difference. Do your research!

I'll never be able to go to Disney, but watching this is always fun.

I was debating between Swan/Dolphin or the Grove off-site for next summer. Grove sold me because it's so affordable and offer so much, glad you mentioned it. They only charged me 1 night deposit rest due at check-in.

Honestly I find myself always going back to Fort Wilderness Resort. Cabins or camping, it's like a its own mini park outside the big 4. So much to due there from boat rides to horse trail rides, Segway tours, fishing excursion, kayaks etc.. not including the usual Disney hotel features like pools/Hot tubs/splash pads, restaurants.
Plus that downtime from the parks is much appreciated for us adults. 😂

We stayed in a Little Mermaid room at AoA in summer 2019 for $160 a night, crazy how much it has increased already 😯
