Was impressed with the intro sequence. If the games are fun, unique, and interesting; I'm in. Will wait to see if a community gets built around this little device.

I was kind of on the fence about this device when it was revealed but its grown on me A LOT. I think the limitations of the console attract me the most. Most times with recent emulation handhelds I spend so much time fiddling with all the games I put on it and by the end of the day I have all these systems and games at my disposal but I just never hit play. I feel like this will give that breath of fresh air that I’ve been craving.

I am incredibly excited for this. I’m in the wave 2 of shipments. It will never be a super popular device, but I can’t wait to see the Playdate community grow and start making their own games.

Looks very slick, I loved that little initial setup, very fun. Expensive though, the games will be the really catch here. Looking forward to the full review.

This thing looks very cool. I was extremely impressed with the adorable “loading” sequence where you input the buttons etc. however you lost me at the price. Without even knowing what the games are like or anything that’s just a crazy price. But thanks as always for sharing this with us!

No lie, i was expecting a crappy FOAC or something, but damn, that whole intro sequence has me sold!

I thought it was actually run by the crank, so it would charge/run the device with a dynamo like a bike light. Only at the end I really got that the crank is supposed to be an input method.

It's much thinner than I thought it was going to be. The intro was very cute and a nice intro to the device. They lose me on the limited color option and price though. The games will need to be something special to justify nearly $200.

Very well made intro! I've been interested in this for a while, I hope the games are actually good.
If you pre order now you won't get it until 2023. I don't have the patience or trust for that so I'll wait until it's in stock if that ever happens.
