Get to Know Vienna's Tchimpounga Sanctuary Story of Hope

Resilient Vienna was rescued by authorities from the illegal wildlife trade. When he arrived at JGI's Tchimpounga sanctuary in Republic of the Congo he was very scared, but caregivers tended to him around the clock and showed him love. Vienna recovered with time and soon he was able to be integrated with other chimpanzees his age. Thankfully, Vienna has been given a second chance at a happy life.

Humans don’t realize traumatized animals dream and have nightmares…I’ve witnessed them with dogs we have rescued. Poor little Vienna…lucky to be rescued.

I wish these videos and the content you share and educate us on could be seen by the WORLD! For those that these videos doesn’t emotionally effect are those we need to help understand the invaluable precious co-inhabitors of this delicate world of ours. Being destroyed by greed from rich countries like my own, Sweden. Often I’m truly ashamed of what my government and other governments with the actual true power to act on all the increasingly dangerous issues but they chose not…😔…and they’d rather see the world continued to be ravaged, burn, poisoned and destroyed no matter the pain and suffering it causes. Money is worth. Nothing when all is ruined, destroyed and surely to be blamed on the “poor” countries having the life sucked out of them by the imperial forces so be it the US, Uk, China or Russia. I really hate being forced to se what the rich is doing to our planet. Sorry for the rant, got emotional.

These nasty people are the same ones who stole this animal from its mother. It is disgusting to think that they are the ones who chopped off its thumb and deprived it of food so that they could make videos like this. Some people are so disgraceful and greedy!
