There are no tropical threats to the Gulf of Mexico.

Hurricane Sam continues to churn over the open Atlantic as a major hurricane. It is forecast to remain a major hurricane through the weekend. It will curve north around a ridge of high pressure and stay well northeast of the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean Sea. It will likely pass east of Bermuda this weekend. A tropical storm watch has been issued for Bermuda.
