When purchasing an Inflatable paddleboard, the search can be pretty overwhelming. In this video we’ll list our tried and true personal favorites that have earned a spot on our list of Best Inflatable Paddleboards of 2022.

The SUPBoarguide team has personally tested and provided in-depth reviews of each on the SUPs on this list, and can attest to their exceptional performance and value considering all of the variable such as paddler size, paddling preference, feature needs, and even the some of the diner details.

So, if all these boards are stellar, which do you choose? Luckily, you literally cannot go wrong with any of the boards on our list, but there are some factors to consider to ensure that you’re getting the perfect fit. How are some things to consider when finding your perfect board:

What size of board do you need?
Your board size directly relates to its volume, which is the determinant factor of how stable you’ll feel on your board. For this question, you’ll need to consider your height and weight. For beginners, the general rule of thumb is that taller/heavier paddlers benefit from the added volume of longer (10’6 - 11’6) and wider (32” - 35”) SUPs, while shorter/smaller paddlers who don’t require added volume prefer the dimensions of a shorter (10’ - 10’6) and slightly less wide (30” - 33”) all-around. Once you determine your ideal size for yourself, consider how often you’ll be bringing gear or passengers.

What kind of features do you need?
Paddleboards today can have a slew of features on board to allow you to customize your experience. Are you a person that wants to be able to set up a go pro or screw on a cup holder with a variety of action mounts? Do you need a lot of cargo space? Are you looking to fish off of your board and need some scotty mounts to set up some rod holders? Are you looking for something more minimalistic, and uncluttered? Do you need plenty of deck pad space to do some SUP yoga? Would you like to be able to attach a kayak seat? The options are endless, and it ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Are you planning on hiking/ traveling with your SUP?
One of the main benefits of Inflatable Stand-up Paddleboards is portability, but not all are created equal. If you’re planning on strapping your SUP to your back to hike into an alpine lake or hop on a plane, you’ll need a SUP with lighter weight construction, a comfortable backpack, and a more compact design. Whereas paddlers whose SUPs will mainly be traveling from the car to the beach can opt for heavier, more robust construction.

What is your budget?
Now that you’ve narrowed down your board size, found one with the right amount of features, and know it can fit your traveling needs, it’s time to work out a budget. Typically, boards with more advanced construction and a more feature-rich design will be at a higher price point, but we’ve included some great boards on this list that should fit your needs without breaking the bank.

These questions essentially were exactly what we kept in mind when deciding which board would make our list of Best Inflatable Paddleboards for 2022. We’ve spent countless hours on each SUP to compile a comprehensive list with boards to fit all paddler sizes, skill sets, and preferences. After 10+ yrs. on rigid boards, I bought my first inflatable board last year from a river trip outfitter.
I found and purchased from Amazon an 11' *Funwater* "yellow" for the pointy *touring* shape, bagan using it on my local river.
I'm amazed at how much i prefer this board over previous "favorites."
As a result, I purchased 5 more identical boards, FunWater "yellow, " averaging less than $200 apiece.
I paddleboard *somewhere* everyday, sometimes lakes, but mostly rivers here in central Alabama. I've been on thiss board over 200 times in the past year, and I do lots of fishing (nearly 80 bass standing on this board, in one year) and exploring islands, camping...
Best money I 'bout ever spent.
I have a fleet of 18 inflatables, 6 alike for tours, one "Tuxedo Sailor (?)" which has amazing features/extras for fishing, yep, made by FunWater, whose factory builds for MANY DIFFERENT LABELS.

I'm seeing the "brand names" have WAY MORE quality issues...Body Glove and others, even Bote...and the customers' lack of support, after a blown board, and a blown vacation.
Free demos if you're in Lake Martin area of Alabama, text me...Cherokee Bluffs on the Tallapoosa River. EZ!

My Fiancé and I have the 2022 Atoll ISUP and we’re pretty pleased with it. Pretty light weight, 33 inches wide gives great stability and they look great with their minimalist theme and awesome Bison logo. Only thing I could’ve hoped for was an extra strap and at least one mount to put a GoPro or camera. Hopefully they can integrate this in their next design without sacrificing weight.

We got the Bote HD Aero's and had a similar experience. Bubbles coming up in the side rail, bubble under the deck pad, deck pad peeling up. This was all straight out of the box. Contacted BOTE and they said its cosmetic, no warranty. Asked about 30 day return window and BOTE said "you did not buy it from us directly. Contact your local dealer". Well a manufacturer throwing their dealers under the buss to deal with their poor quality is not a good sign. So I contacted the local dealer and he says "BOTE is huge. We are just a dealer. We can't take it back because we don't get any support from them either". What good is a 2 year warranty if the company that offers it refuses to honor it. I have spoken to a few others with the same issue's and after spending thousands, got no support.

Thanks for the reviews, I’ve had the Thurso Waterwalker for several years. It’s held up to everything imaginable, including navigating through tight water ways with mangroves poking and sticking myself and the board with no issues. 😎 Big fan of Thurso!

Please test/review Paddle North products. Their inflatable board Portager is amazing. And so are their bamboo boards and carbon paddles. They're super popular in Minnesota and the rest of Upper Midwest.

I have the iRocker Blackfin XL and the iRocker Blackfin V and both are amazing...we have gotten over 10 first time paddle Boarders to try and be able to use them right away on an open bay . The bay is by no means like a lake so that is impressive that all have been able to get up, balance and paddle away. I would imagine we will be adding the Ultra as well. At 6ft and 265lbs I can easily get up on the board and maneuver around on the boards as well and I am an amateur. Also I have the BT speaker, cooler, cup holder, Kayak seat and anchor for it so you have a terrific day on the water. I believe the hard shell iRocker cooler does not float while the Bote cooler does.

Geez went from lakes in the north west moved to the Yucatan and am.sucking in the ocean no tranquil water unless a lagoon or Harbour luckily snorkeling and Biking gives my active lifestyle gap fillers live in progress house and Playa del Carmen condo. much choice is a bad thing :-) Thanks for the video folks.

Got the Aqua Marina Atlas and my son and I are loving using it. Considering getting a smaller one for him, so debating a proper kids one 8-9 ft (Aqua Marina Vibrant or Breeze), or maybe just a smaller adults one which will last him for longer but maybe not be so good now (Aqua Marina Vapor). Looking again at Aqua Marina as we have the kit for one and like it plus good price, but open to others.

Good video but have a question. You also gave the Isle Switch a great review. Why didn’t it make the list?
