The homeless industrial complex is big business. I should know I used to be in that line of work. Out of every dollar you contribute to non-profits only .20 cents is passed on to actually help homeless individuals. Where does the rest go? Salaries to pay the CEO's and employees, corporate overhead, advertising, utilities etc. It is outrageous that the CEO of the non-profit I used to work for was pulling in $400K a year.

Can we please stop funding the pockets for the helpers and those who help pass the funding, and instead make people volunteer after getting an arrest charge (community service) and those who want to volunteer for the sake of it?

Most people don’t care to volunteer because there’s no real structure and the resources to help are too low because the money is actually going into people’s pockets who don’t need it compared to actually going towards things that help heal the broken needy
