Is age a barrier to learn data science?

I'm 70. My retirement has been to study AI. Started 5 years ago. Youtube has been a great resource. I'm a big fan of Jeff Heaton's channel and, of course, FastAI. People advise that the best way to learn AI is to just do it. I wish I started my project years earlier. The second best way to learn AI is to iterate over your project. Learn, recode, enhance.

Indeed. I lost my job because of pandemics in 2020, after 7 years of having dealt with electronics only. During that quarantine, and having found out Artificial Intelligence & Data Science were hot topics, I got enrolled in as many courses as I could, plus one Machine Learning Masters, which finished by July this year.

*I have already been receiving job calls* ...

It's never too later fellas, NEVER EVER GIVE UP 😀👍.

age should not be a barrier, in fact it is best to learn it when you've done some work in the industry or academia. i've seen so many people transition when they are older. a doctor, an engineer, will have so many ideas when they use data sciene. also know where to apply to when you have some experience, it might be worthwhile to explore an area you are already farmiliar with.

At 43 I went to New Zealand leaving a 60k INR per month job, topped in Master of Digital Business program n came back due to Covid unemployment, and after 10months I got a job as Data Analyst, then in just 3 months I got a Tech Architect in Python role, paying almost 3times of what I used to get 2yrs back, and just celebrated my 44th Birthday 😂😂😂😂😂👍🙏🙏
