“Personally, I resent being tagged "glamour girl". It's such an absurd, extravagant label. It implies so much that I'm not.” -Carole Lombard.. Watch THIS video next! “Clark Gable, how can someone so nice also be so disturbing?”

She was so beautiful and funny and sadly she passed away so young. Clark Gable really loved her and was distraught when she died, he's buried next to her.

Everyone in Hollywood LOVED Carol Lombard. She was VERY popular amongst her peers. She was also Lucille Balls best friend and mentor. Kind of a big sister type. Lucy looked up to Carol professionally and personally. Lucy stated many times she wouldn't have had a career if Carol hadn't pushed her to not give up on herself. She was also very devastated by Carols death and stayed close to Gable until his death,
their link being their unconditional eternal love for Carol of course. It's funny Carol was so beloved by all her peers, everyone in town adored her. Lucy was also beloved and adored by the same peerage as well.

Considering where the plane crashed, there is no way to bring it down. Besides, with all of the time that's passed, there probably is no way to salvage the remains and find out what happened. As for why Gable was not allowed up to help retrieve Carole, he was over 40 years old and a chronic smoker and he would not adjust to the altitude and steep terrain. Also, Carole's body had been charred beyond recignition--save for the black dress she was wearing--and she had been decapitated. No spouse, no matter how strong their love is, should have that last image of their spouse. In fact, when told confirmation of Carole's death, Gable was told "Remember her how she was".

I don't believe her plane was shot down because no one knew she was flying home until the last minute. She'd pulled a "Do you know who I am?" to get three servicemen kicked off of the flight so she could rush home to Gable and assuage her fears that he might be diddling his beautiful young co-star Lana Turner. Lana remarked, after years of abuse from Carole's fans accusing her of having a hand in the star's death, "I wasn't having an affair with [Gable]. Carole was rushing home because of fear and jealousy. I didn't put her on the plane; she did that. I didn't cause her death."

Had Gable and Carole not had a HUGE fight the night before she left on the War Bonds Drive, and had Gable swallowed his pride and driven his wife to the train station (he didn't because of wounded pride), and had he taken a few of her phone calls trying to apologize, maybe--just maybe--Carole would have taken the train back to L.A. and lived happily ever after with her beloved "Pa".

P.s. Carole suffered from endometriosis and had at least two operations to help clear up the problem, but the odds were pretty low that she wouldve ever conceived a child.

Karine, thanks for honoring Carole. You used beautiful footage. We are both from Indiana. As a girl I read a book on her and it said she had canary yellow wing back chairs in the home she had with Gable. And as a woman I bought a yellow wing back, remembering and copying Carole's exquisite taste.

Fun fact I'm not sure if you used to watch cheaters but you know his grandson was the third host on the show and he favoured him so much and fortunately he has been passed on since 2019 due to a drug overdose or Opie overdose

I’m going to binge watch your channel. I must say from the title, to the video presentation, and overall subject matter, you carved yourself a fascinating niche. I’m a sucker for vintage Hollywood & scandal. I actually know, quite a few, lovely black women that are into it but I’m glad that you’re making it tangible. Thank you.

16:28-16:30 The photo where she was holding the black cat. Her and the cat were definitely serving in that photo! 🔥🔥🔥 Carole Lombard was truly a beautiful and talented actress.

Thank you for this story on Carole Lombard. I love watching classic movies, and "My Man Godfrey" is one of my favorites that she starred in. She was a lovely starlet & Clark Gable really loved her. Those photos you shared with us were nice. When you mentioned she was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, I immediately thought of Sanford & Son. Why? Fred G. Sanford always mentioned it.😂✌🏾

Can you do Theda Bara? She was an interesting character. So was Clara Bow, her life was really sad…

I was just hoping you would do one for Ms. Lombard, Would love to see you do Fredi Washington the woman who refused to pass for white. She did the 1934 version Imitation of Life.

Surely someone has requested information on the crash using the FOIA?
Thanks for this, Karine. I hope at some point you do a video on Clara Bow. I know not many people are into silents, but Clara's life was profoundly strange and sad.
