Emerging adulthood is a relatively new developmental phenomenon occurring in Western cultures in which young adults are taking more time to establish themselves on their own -- separate from those who raised them. Three different generations of college graduates find that their unique experiences in navigating the world and overcoming struggle overlap and interact in ways that ultimately affect generations to come. As the most contemporary generation reflects on these experiences, feelings regarding growing up in chaotic world come to the surface.
