I just picked up this exact config (well, after anodizing the hardware it's the exact same config) a couple weeks ago. It's Gen 4 Batch 12, & although I haven't really been into larger knives lately, I find myself having a VERY difficult time putting it down. I also recently got a 2nd Roosevelt, and STILL I can't really put down the Arius.

Now, I've handled a lot of knives, but though I just name-dropped Koenig & Oz, I'm not one of those dudes who has like 30 knives all valued at $1k+ each. I have some pretty nice stuff (like Reate-made stuff), but really my two Rosies & the Arius are my most valuable knives. And yeah, I just can't put down the damn Arius.

The action is absolutely infectious. I'm not necessarily looking for guillotine drop shut action, but the way it feels on this knife is just different in the best way. And I'm also more of a forward finger choil guy, but for whatever reason, not having one on this knife also doesn't bother me. The ergos, the action, the quality, all of it, on top of being made in the USA, just has this X-factor to it that's incredible. The clip isn't deep carry, which I actually really like on this knife. I love deep carry clips, but damn man sometimes I thin k they're a bit over-rated. It's nice to have something to actually grab when you're reaching to actually use your knife!

I think one of the biggest draws for me on this knife is the hard, crisp, yet easy to flick detent. Whether reverse flicking or flipping, it's crazy how good it feels. My biggest drawback when I got it was I thought the grind angle of the edge was a bit steep, but I sharpened it to 20 dps & now it cuts really well with that hollow grind. Maybe it's the way I hold the knife when reverse flicking or flipping, but I haven't encountered the lock bar sensitivity issue at all.

Anyway, this is definitely a knife that came out of left field compared to what I've been drawn to lately. But I saw there were a few available at DLT Trading & I just went for it, and boy am I glad I did! I'd love to know if you kept this knife since this video released a couple years ago. If so, how's it holding up? Either way, great video my man! :o)

I'm late to the Arius Game... Grabbed a Brightwashed CF with SF and DLC hardware off their site the other day... Can't wait to put it to work!! 👊🏼

Wanna hear something crazy?! As of shot show ‘22 Chris Reeve Knives announced a new finish that they will be offering on their knives. Apparently they are calling it “glass blasting” and credit Bill Koenig with teaching then how to do it lol.,

The arius is so good. I have the textured titanium version with the same blue hardware. It’s just so good. It can be difficult to put it down. Good review!!

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who felt the same about the detent. Took me a couple days to get used to, but when I did…MAN is it perfect 🤣

I love the video. I just bought my Koening Arius and I for the life of me could not flick it. I loved it but I hated it at the same time as I could not flick it.
I know, I am crazy:) I was jealous of you because I would see you flicking from the top and from the back. I never saw you flick it from the front. Once you revealed
the locker problem which my Koenig has, I became an expert. I am pretty good flicking with my thumb from the front too. Just takes practice and I like you, will not
send it in for that. I love mine. My favorites right now are Koenig and Rockstead. Both are badarse!!!

Any tips on picking up one of these? I want the same configuration; all I'm seeing is $900+ on the secondary market, usually in great shape but not brand new. I am patient if that helps.

I've watched a lot of reviews of this knife and I've never felt like I would really like it, your review was really good and now I want one.
Thanks for spending my money 🤑

Your reviews are incredible. You have such knife knowledge and expertise thank you for your content . I want one but I’m afraid it may be too big for EDC. Is it OK to carry every single day? Typically like you I do like smaller knives so I am just wondering. I am in love with the look and quality of this and really want to carry it every day. Your thoughts please

I own a Sebenza and a few XM's and I would hope that Koenig makes a better knife than Chris Reeve and Rick Hinderer. It should be better. It certainly costs more.
