I think there’s a safety issue in giving an Oscar for stunts. It changes the nature of stunt work now they’re competing to win an Oscar instead of being safe. Pushing to make the performance instead of being safe. It could change the mentality and the priorities of that aspect. Just saying… don’t want to kill the joy here.

The argument against giving stunts a Oscar is it rewards taking unnecessary risks for example if you have a stuntman that’s snubbed one year they are going to do something more dangerous the next year until they get the Oscar or die (and probably get the Oscar)

They really should start giving out awards for stunt people. I don't know why they haven't yet, it's not like they don't deserve it. I would say if anything, they deserve it the most, by putting their lives on the line every time they go to work.

Fun fact: David Leitch only co-directed John Wick for which he wasn't even credited. Stahleski is the director of the four movies and the one I think should be credited with this movie always. But both of them started in stuntman business.
