I'm on my second car with CVT. Together I have over 11 years of experience with CVTs. And I would say that CVT goes just like regular automatic transmission. There are no secrets on how to use it. The secret is to replace fluid in it more frequently than in automatic...and it will last...

I love CVT's!!!! I like a manual and I like the automatics, but I much prefer a CVT!! I am hoping for the day that they build one large enough to handle 1500 + HP Chevy for Rear Wheel I have been suggesting for the option to lock the CVT into a range that I chose and vary the RPM as need. Now, it seems that the throttle position determines the range it decides. There are so many times that I wished I had a gear in between the set gear ratio of a manual transmission.

Pretty sure this is what my stepsister has in her car.... I drove her car once and I remember it being crazy smooth when I drove it. I enjoyed it actually. She has the 2020 Civic EX Sedan. I have the 2018 Civic LX Coupe and mine is the 6 speed standard transmission. I really liked the driving experience when I drove her car but I wouldn't be able to have a CVT myself as I like the standard much better. I say if you don't care for standards, get the CVT. Pretty smooth and awesome driving experience.

thanks for the video. I just recently got a car with a CVT after driving with a traditional automatic for years. it definitely feels unusual at first than an automatic. I thought I had an issue with my CVT because the RPM's remained between 1000-2000 even though I was increasing speed. now i have better peace of mind now that you showed that it's normal for the RPMs to be remain low as you gain speed

TLDR: be patient and roll into the throttle. Expect to feel like a subway.
