Link's definitely got the triforce of courage if he can fight these things and not just "Nope" out of there

TOTK comes out.
Gloom hands: okay, time to end Dead Hands’ whole career.

Those freaking zombies in Ocarina of Time are scary and extremely annoying!

They really need to make another game in the Twilight Princess line/aesthetic.

I tend to find "Them" one of the creepiest -- not for their design alone, but the overall encounter with Them, and just how much we DON'T know about Them.

Those wind waker redeads gave me nightmares as a kid, so did most of majoras mask.

The one that made my skin crawl the most only managed it once, because the *sheer catharsis factor* of how you defeat it nullifies much of the creep factor.

You crush Armoghoma several times and then destroy its *pitiful and terrified* true form using literally whatever means you want... Except the slingshot as it's only Zelda game to make the slingshot completely useless after an early part of the game.

Haven't played my Twilight princess yet but, it seems I am in for a treat this October!

I nerver heard people talking about them as terrifying creatures in zelda games, but when I was a kid, the puppets summoned by a kind of skull kid in the sacred grove in twilight princess, really sceared me

ReDeads and Wallmasters are definitely at the top of my list! I also think Gomess from Majora's Mask deserves a shout-out!

Good list! Here's my thoughts on the entries:

10. Silent Realm Guardians: I'm glad these guys are getting a shout out, even if it is at the bottom of the list. That feeling you get when they awaken and you are not close to where you need to be to get the next tear is nothing short of anxiety inducing!

09. Seahat: This isn't one that would immediately come to mind, but I suppose they do look pretty terrifying!

08. Skulltulas: Spiders are always unnerving. It's why they do so well in survival horror and Souls games.

07. Stal Enemies: I suppose they fit the bill, but only in the strictest sense. They are reanimated skeletons after all! Also, I'm going to take this opportunity to point out just what a fun boss Stallord is, as well as how great and sometimes underappreciated Twilight Princess is!

06. Poes: These little ghosts are relatively creepy throughout the series. Especially the ones that inhabit paintings in the Forest Temple. Once again, however, Twilight Princess outdid every other version with it's poes found inside Arbiter's Grounds. Seriously, those things are very unsettling...

05. Death Sword: Personally, I would have placed this nightmare in the top three at least! A fun mini boss with a genuinely demonic design. I always look forward to ending this monster when traversing Arbiter's Grounds!

04. Wall/Floor Masters: Are they creepy? Sure. Seeing an unexpected shadow slowly appear over Link isn't exactly comforting. Still, at the end of the day, they are more annoying than they are frightening.

03. Bongo Bongo: I have mixed feelings regarding this boss. It playing a giant drum is kinda silly to me, but at the same time, it's design and implications are definitely intimidating and horrific!

02. ReDead: These zombie abominations absolutely deserve to be in the top three, along with Death Sword. Especially the versions in Wind Waker, which just look so...evil, for lack of a better word.

01. Dead Hand: While I am left wondering where Majora's Mask is in all of this, (Majora's Incarnation is disturbing as hell!) I am glad to see much of the entries come from Twilight Princess. So many people want to argue that Majora's Mask is the darker entry over Twilight Princess. Granted Majora's Mask is dark, but not as dark as Twilight Princess! Yet, the top pick comes from neither of those games but rather, the classic Ocarina Of Time! I also think it's well deserving! I didn't play horror games of any kind as a child, so imagine my surprise when I got to the Bottom Of The Well, within a Nintendo game! I was so thoroughly intrigued because it was different from everything I had seen from the rest of the game. The icing on the cake was Dead Hand, an entity so thoroughly creepy in it's design that's it's stuck with me after all these years! It's not just demonic looking, like say Death Sword. There's an abstract quality to it that makes you unsure of just what this chomping monstrosity is. Then, I got the surprise of getting to face it again in the Shadow Temple, and a third time if you're playing Master Quest! While Arbiter's Grounds is close, I still think the Shadow Temple is The darkest dungeon in all of the 3D Zelda titles!

Dead Hands will always hold that number one spot for me. I remember playing the Bottom of the Well for the first time late night in my room back when I was 13 when Ocarina of Time first released and it scared the hell out of me.

Death Sword is still the scariest one to me. Also didn’t know that it had a name. I always called it either the “Sealed Executioner” or “Ancient Butcher”.

My scary experience in the Zelda games is the Wallmasters at the forest temple in ocarina of time, they make this creepy roar and the shadow grows big, you then must move out of their Shadow as they drop, if you don't move out of their Shadow it will grab you and take you back to the main entrance and lose one health heart.

To me, the scariest ones are the skulltulas, hands down! Specially the ones in Twilight Princess! Speaking in Stall enemies, the Japanese name for the Skulltula is "Stalltula".

I agree the silent guardians in skyward sword were absolutely terrifying cause u couldn’t fight them and only gathering the tears could stop them
