Jambo! Safari (Demul) - Expert Stage Playthrough / Phorusrhacos

Here's a full playthrough of the Expert mode in Jambo Safari, played with a Logitech Dual Action gamepad on the Demul emulator. A bowling alley in my area had this game by the time I uploaded the playthrough, but it's been gone as of December 2017.

In this run, I catch the giant, prehistoric bird called the Phorusrhacos. To unlock the animal at the end of the game, you need to finish Shetani Riverside (stage 3) with at least 170,000 points and without continuing at any point.

I used a screen capturing tool to record the game, hence why the bass in this video is pretty obnoxious.. That will be fixed in my next playthrough.

Unfortunately, they pulled the Jambo machine out of the bowling alley, so it's best to wait until I get a steering wheel to make an improved run. Who wants to see me try for 300K points? I've done it, but it's not easy.

this was my absolute FAVOURITE arcade game growing up. I loved it so much and watching you play it makes me so nostalgic. there's something about catching those animals that felt so incredibly satisfying! I really wish there was a way I could still play this myself. :/

I was reminded the other day of this arcade game from one of my friends, and man I REALLY do miss this game a lot 😭 Growing up, I was fortunate enough to go to Disney Quest every year (my dad works at Disney and employees and their families can go for free once per year) and this was probably hands down my FAVORITE arcade game!!! Well until Tank! Tank! Tank! was added there later on, but that game is only truly fun when you’re with 4 people 🤣 The sensation of holding the wheel and the handle for the whip, along with the vibration feature and manic sound effects really made this game a amazing experience!!! Disney Quest is now long gone (replaced with the shitty NBA Experience, I went there once for free as well and it’s incredibly boring and cheap feeling) so I’ll probably never have the chance to play this game again, but I’m glad there’s at least a small community of people who still keep this game’s memory alive!!! 🐘🦓 🦒

I blew through so many tokens at Chuck E Cheese playing this when I was a kid, but when I finished it I only ever got the saber tooth. I never got the white lion or terror bird. I guess it's to do with time and/or rank

No matter how many times I play it, that last level was a nightmare to complete as a kid.
I managed to beat Expert level 3 times out of the 100 attempts.

This game was awesome, when i was a kid i used to play this game when going to the arcade. I remember i chose the old guy because it was hilarious to me seeing him tumble during a capture😂

This game needs a true remake, and heck, you can add to it to give it story. Heck make a full game of with new story, discovering new species, and things not yet known, open world the game to.

This is a fun game. I played it this weekend in an arcade in inngoldmel Skegness and I even caught the silver lion and completed the game. It’s a shame there were too many good games out at the time to give this game any attention. Wish I played it when it first came out as they don’t make novelty games like this and crazy taxi anymore sadly.
