If anyone of you have ADD or ADHD. Do you ever just look at people and see them as normal and you different? I just feel on another level, not meaning more smart or anything, but I feel that my brain is more understanding and different. It could just be me. It took me a bit to make this sentence because I’ve been finding lately that I’ve been struggling to think of words and say them. It takes me a while to think and process it. I am 16 and going through all this confusing stuff.

I’m diagnosed with adhd and couldn’t b happier about not like I can’t keep focus on everything in life but more like I can’t focus on things that don’t peak my interest, but allows my constantly running mind to learn about things that fascinate me, I will learn everything I can about a subject get bored and move on to a new subject or adhd allows me to acquire many talents, but I do have hard times reading, my thoughts will flow as I read and hard to retain that information, I retain information a lot better though visual/audio

I have been diagnosed with ADHD and it's like your mom tells you to do something for example: "Bring me a cup of water please? And I'm like ok sure and when I go to kitchen something else comes to my mind go back do whatever it is and my mom asks me "Where is my water?" I completely forget it and sometimes i have an energy burst i start to run and toss my self to sofa etc

The energy burst is generally fun though if you are not doing smth important 😂

I was hyper active at about age 3to 7 yrs. For my parents controlling me was very difficult task, I used to go up and down in the stairs, I had a tendency to do somersault, I injured myself many times, it was like, (due to multiple injury experience )I don't want to jump but I jump or I was fear that I may fall,
I used to fight with my preschool friend, throwing kits to air, etc
Mean while my attention was poor, I feel like my homeworks Are something I could not do anyway,
After some years my hyperactive state is diminished I went to a state of low activity at around 8 yrs or 10 yrs of age.
I was bad or average in studies
I was not able to talk with my friends as other do .
Is it ADHD....?
Now I am 26
Current situation is like, feeling of low mood all the time, need coffe for doing anything very imp, but the effect will last for 5 min, can't stay awake when there is exam, I used to sleep early when there is exam on next day, if I do exercise there will be some increased mood for 15 mins, even doing exercises is a big task sometimes,
Still alive

Is it ADHD ..?

Any idea that if it could happen after puberty but no symptoms before puberty?

Yeah but none of the observations are helpful for an affected person..

I mean, how does it feel like and how could one even tell these things are true for themselves if adhd is either severe enough or combined with a dozen other things?

I'm missing the reference of interpretations for most of them.. and i also can't really reflect stuff from the last week since i became an adult.

I've got the diagnosis, yes, but all i see about its description seems horribly wrong, partly duplicated or overlapping and it is still very hard for me to think of examples.. it seems like my perspective matters and that is altered either by memories or mood.. and i assume other adhd people feel the same..

boys are not more likely to have adhd, girls are just underdiagnosed since it usually shows as a stereotypical girl personality that society pushes on us, shy, quiet, reserved, which most people dont think is adhd and boys are over diagnosed because society pushes them to be loud, distracting, and roudy, which is what most people think of when thinking of adhd. its probably around 50/50 regardless of gender, and ADD has recently been scrapped, now its all just under the ADHD umbrella since they are the same thing :)

new research suggests women are just as likely to get it. They are just much better at coping.

You mean kids would rather interact with the world around them instead of listen to a teacher's lecture??? Must be something wrong with them.

ADHD: lack of proper discipline, usually caused by lazy parents.
