This show got the whole "6 seasons & a movie" treatment and what a hell of a way to go!

I think Ed Edd n Eddy might have arguably the best and most satisfying finale a cartoon has ever had to this day. Like, I think the closest we've ever gotten was Gravity Falls, but that show had a 2 season run compared to the Eds going on for 6.

Ed Edd n Eddy despite all the cartoon shenanigans and craziness still keep everything to a somewhat grounded level and that can be highlighted in the movie. It’s just “what if Ed Edd n Eddy was longer and had a bigger scope”

Big Picture Show is the textbook definition of how you should end your show.

Can we appreciate the fact that this man sat through the entire Casagrandes movie just for this one video?

Ed, Edd n Eddy ended perfectly. It wrapped up in just the right way with all the heart, humor and adventure it needed for a series of its scale and quality. It is one of the reasons I will always love the show to death and consider The Big Picture Show one of the greatest sources of comfort in the dark times of CN Real and middle school. Thank you, Antanucci. Thank you.

Don't know what genre Foster's Home would be considered, but I feel like that's another one that had a great TV movie

Another exception to the TV Movie Curse in my opinion is "Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension", mainly because the show already had more outlandish premise with stuff like crazy inventions & pet secret agents, so the movie going into dimensional travel for it's plot didn't seem outside of the show's usual tone & world.

The Bobs burgers movie is also a good example. A slice of life series. And the film is a simple premise that stays in the setting where our characters live and experience something challenging.

I will now quote “MEXICO 800 YEARS AGI”

I think the best part is how they not only stick to the core personalities of the Ed Edd n Eddy cast with Big Picture Show, but we also see all the characters in new scenarios which expand their characterizations even more: Eddy admits to his mistakes and cries. Double D (justifiably) attacks Eddy. Nazz is very proactive as she and Kevin search for the Eds. Jimmy and Sarah are kept under the Kankers' thumbs; and so on. Good stuff. Terrific finale to my favorite show of all time.

The entire Loud House/Casagrandes IP used to have those humble slice-of-life beginnings, but then, for whatever reason, the show wasn't wacky enough without science-fiction and fantasy slop happening. Take Lisa from the Loud House who basically went from the braniac of the family who does small kiddie science experiments in the house to literally becoming Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory where she's building robots. Just a lot of flandarization occurred throughout the seasons, but in a significantly faster way than SpongeBob ever did

Big Picture Show is one of the all time greats, and I have no idea what Casagrass is.

I really love the Ed Edd n Eddy movie so much, it makes me very happy seeing the Edd’s finally get accepted by their cul-de-sac and learning the true relationship between Eddy and his brother.😺

I hate to say it but looking back, the first Hey Arnold movie was probably one of the closest to its normal premise out of every other tv cartoon movie. Granted it still sucks, but "stop a land developer from bulldozing down the neighbohood" feels like an okayish escalation for a movie about a slice of life show. At least million years more than "Gotta explore the jungle and save a hidden civilization to save my parents" or freaking aztec demigods.

However, the Ed Edd n Eddy movie knew its setting its premise and beautifilly pushed it in a way to make it grander without loosing itself.

Also id also argue the We Bare Bears movie would fit in the "less out there" category as well as it doesnt do anything so out of pocket that coildnt work inside the show and is mostly anout a personal issue rather than saving the world.

1:48 The thing is, that was meant to conclude the cliffhanger ending of the show. The Jungle Movie was in development before getting cancelled and then brought back a decade or so later. It was something that fans have been waiting for years. That's what sets it apart from those other TV movies.

I really love the creator of ed Edd n eddy’s charecter designs!
He did another show on MTV and a lot of people criticized it for how hideous the character designs look!

He also did commercials for converse Levi’s and MTV too!

The funny thing about BPS is not only it works as a movie and finale, but also as a MID-SEASON finale. Ed, Edd n' Eddy ran for most the first seasons during Summer Vacations, but then had the season that took them back to school, with a hilarious episode where Eddy tried his darnest to simulate summer for longer only for a Fall Rainstorm reveal his scheme, that was also when the show renewed their animation methods, so we got crisp colours, smooth linework and a more diverse palette with characters dressing for colder weather and such. So anyone who is binge-watching the show can easily cut to the movie before their school season starts since said movie is during summer.

This is why I hold up Ed, Edd, n Eddy as one of - if not the greatest cartoon of my childhood. The comedy was on point, the episodes were engaging, the cast was small so every character had their chance to shine, and the movie was a cut above the rest. It answered most of our questions about the Eds (minus the fakeout about what's under Double D's hat) and closed up their story arc beautifully. No other series will ever compare.
