The Redemptive-Historical Context of Acts 2-3

At the beginning of the book of Acts, the risen Lord Jesus is still present on the earth, appearing to his disciples over a forty-day period. Before his ascension, he leaves them with the promise of the Holy Spirit who would empower them to be his witnesses unto the ends of the earth. Having established the redemptive-historical setting of the Pentecost in Acts 2-3, Dr. Rita Cefalu demonstrates how the feast of firstfruits serves as the stage for the ingathering of souls in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
