A short (silent...thank you, wisdom teeth) video of how to make your own citrus rinse aid for the dishwasher. Two ingredients and technically...you could simply just use vinegar by itself. But essential oils are just so fun though!

How many years have you been using vinegar? Many people says it will cause failure to your rubber components, but I don´t think its true, I saw a video here of a 25 years dishwasher and the guy said he´s been using white vinegar since the beggining.

Unfortunately, vinegar is acidic and will attack the rubber components of the Rinse Aid dispenser causing a failure over time. Commercial Rinse Aids also lubricate the bearings in the the water jets to maintain them.

Also, vinegar isn't a surfactant, so as a rinse aid, this solution really won't do much that your detergent isn't already doing. This may smell good, but that's about it.

I use vinegar only. I use the Fresh Finds Big Lot Brand 2.00 a gallon, I have extremely hard water not only do glass sparkle every time but the inside dishwasher on calcium build up.

Don't put vinegar in the rinse aide compartment! It can damage the components in there
