I could see this combo being very popular if metal needle wasn't banned in most tournaments to avoid stadium damage. Especially on a blade as heavy as Phoenix Wing.

Oh yeah, came up with this at random a few days ago. I also put it on Shark Edge for angled shots so it can snipe ratchets.

Always loved needle bits, they may not be 'meta' but they sure are fun. Shark 5-60N and Scythe 3-60HN are easily two of my favorite combos. Scythe in my testing has great matchups against most attack and defense types, really decent odds against Rod but gets almost walled by wolf on ball or freeball, if wolf is on 9-60 instead of 3-60. Though it does surprisingly well against Wolf on hexa... So much fun.

Love the effort but an easy criticism is that none of your test combos are effective in the current meta. Cobalt Dragoon has no good usage with the exception of it being meta with Elevate and Knight Shield and Leon Crest were always subpar.

Have you tried this build on regular needle? A competitively legal version could be sick, though it may have some hard matchups.

I definitely want to test this, both MN and regualar, but yeah, its a neat combo!

Honestly if takara or hasbro releases an updated stadium mold where its thicker and can withstand the drop of needle then it could be viable

Also if you want to know a good balance type combo heres one spider man with 360 with the performance tip that came with Thanos literally a powerhouse so context spider mans layer is unbalanced and with the performance tip that came with thanos makes it either really aggressive when launched flat or very passive for 75% of the time when launched at a 5 to 10 degree angle so when the beys in the center of the stadium the bey would stay their unless its hit and once its hit it will just go on the attack and do a huge counter attack and toss the opponents bey around like a god dang ragdoll ive used this combo against Phoenix and shark and they just get flunged out of the stadium every single time I'm not even exaggerating this combo is mean even against stanima and defense types.

Cool video! I ended up using sandpaper to round off my metal needles tip since it’s banned from competition play anyways. Maybe if the bit didn’t potentially puncture people’s property; this could be a relevant combo maybe. I also feel if you wanna test competitive viability maybe have a second person to be an opponent against; and have it fight builds that are currently winning events. Would PW 160 MN be able to stop PW 960 LR? Idk maybe make a video about that; I’d be interested to watch!

Problems with this testing : - launched always after, only one tester, only one side of the stadium used. - not fought against the actual meta combo of phoenix (so we don’t know if it is superior), non tested against dragoon elevate (that is meta), lost against a non meta combo of cobalt - lost to rod - and I could go on more (I.ex: not tested against buster). In general
We just know it’s a cool stationary attacker but we don’t even have a non inferiority trial against a phoenix 3-60 rush
