Aymeric Laporte said he tried to speak with France manager Didier Deschamps after he switched his allegiance from France to Spain.

Deschamps said he can be 'uncomfortable' on what Laporte could 'lie' about his decision to now play for Spain.

The Manchester City defender made his debut for Spain against Portugal on Friday ahead of the Euro 2020.

I feel that Laporte spent several years in Spain with his level of castilian, it's weird to see him in the Roja colors when he had been captain in the youth teams of France.

He has Spanish grandparents I believe. His original name was probably Laporta until franconised to Laporte. Good luck to him.

I actually believe Laporte. I mean he has nothing to lose telling him that he wants to represent Spain, instead of France now, since Deschamps opinion or support about his decision is not needed or is irrelevant in the matter. Deschamps is just mad about it and is acting like your typical Libra 😂😂😂....who typically always trys to avoid getting into a confrontation with others and also wants to avoid being the bad guy at all costs. I honestly would not be surprised and could actually see Deschamps lie, in order to do so. I really hope Zidane replaces him soon as France manager, because to be honest be has for quite some time exhausted his stay in the France national team in countless ways.
