As someone who had a traumatic child due to sexual abuse, neglect, and violence I feel this song with my whole being. My mom’s family are money hungry enablers and never honestly cared about getting my mom the help she needed (I know she she should’ve done it on her own but they could’ve been a little supportive) or helping me when she was gone for weeks at a time. They always were cool with me when my mom had money from her cleaning business or our tribal per capita came in but when she didn’t have anything they didn’t want us around and would always talk shit about me and her even though I was just a kid. When my mom was dying in 2016, ten days after my son was born she passed, and my aunts and uncles were sitting in her hospital room crying it made me sick to my stomach. I’ve made peace with the past and some of KKTX songs have given me the motivation to do better and be better for my own children and nieces and nephews. KKTX rules!

The thing with Kublai Khan is rhythm on the Matt vocals. It's not simple to play with rhythm like that. He actually replaces another snare beat with his voice.
