the whole 3rd person perspective changes the game more than I think alot of people realize if they aren't already big in dota style games. Many match up's I thought i'd lose have gone my way simply from a few missed autoattacks. Think it's really a nice blend that can draw in people that like shooters as well as dota and rts fans.

LoL/Dota/Aos/Smite are a specific type of game in the multiplayer online battle arena genre. Aeon of strife was the first, which was a mod for Starcraft, then Dota, which was a mod for Warcraft III, then more recently Dota2 and LoL. It's a really popular type of game with a very long history and there are tons of clones of it out there. Some do it very well, a lot don't.

Guan Yu was a commander in his lifetime, which I'm sure you're asking this because you've played dynasty warriors, but for his astonishing actions of intelligence, cunning, and courage, he was honored as a god in chinese culture, in fact, the reason his face is red because it represents loyalty

Gem of isolation is an amazing item for any Guan Yu, basically gives him 100% slow time on enemies if you've got anyone nearby to keep healing/reducing cd's.

ps. Reinforced boots 1, meditation and 2 health pots.
Warlock sash 3.
Depending on the team comp either breastplate of valor 3 or void stone 3 then alternate to the other.
Gem of isolation 3, by far one of the best support items on Guan as it synergizes with his taolu assault better than most other abilities in the game.
Last item is really game dependent if your feeling like a baws Rod of Tahuti, but if your feeling too weak then some extra health might be useful.

Force to play guan yu more effectively is to always max your 2 over your 3 ( your dash is better than your dot), then if you want to lay the tanky one and have a good carry in your lane, lever up your 1 over your 3. And always spam your 1 in combat with close allies for the cd reduction it gives.
