How does Sunfire and Ionic Spark interact with Garen's passive?

The category of "damage items" doesn't interact with Garen heal. This also applies to any other damage items not listed in this video. Anomalies are also treated as items in this case and therefore fall under the same ruleset.

Garen works great with tank items and the old aurelion sol W anomaly, the one that surround him with orbiting stars!

Experiment bonuses don't work with anything other than pure stats. Pretty much like anomalies.
You can get Zyra an anomaly for execution or collector and her true damage passive won't be able to execute anyone.
Nunu also cannot use omnivamp on his %maxhp damage.
And of course, true damage dot doesn't work with nunu's max hp damage because reasons.

I have the same question, but not on Garen, it's Steb (1-cost unit, Bruiser-Enforcer). I did used Redemption on him, but so far no team-heal too...
