Awesome try. I’m so tired of the rain hahaha. It’s good we needed it but not this much. We can’t till up ours yet till most of the rain is going. Where my garden is is kinda at a slant and my father in law don’t want to till it. Said it might wash out. So it’s a waiting game. Hope to get to it next week.

I've been trying to til my garden areas but here in west tennessee it's been raining everyday for a month and it's gonna take a week or 2 to dry it enough to get anything done. I started working on building raised bed boxes in the meantime. Hope you find a better tiller that will go deep enough.

Hi Amanda, I'll tell you what will take care of those weeds in your Back to Eden garden and you won't have to till it.... tarps. I tarp all of my beds with silage tarps cut to size. All five of my main beds are tarped right now. I kill my cover crop with the tarps, pull them, work the plot, then water and cover them back up. Any weed seed brought up or blown in will try to germinate and the tarp will kill it. Pull the tarps when you're ready to plant and you'll have the prettiest (and cleanest) beds you've ever seen! And, as a bonus, your soil will be warmer (and dry, if there has been a lot of rain)! Farm Plastic Supply and Farmers Friend are two good sources for silage tarps. These are 3 ply, 5 or 6 mil thick, UV treated tarps that are black on one side and white of the other and will last you for years if they are cared for. We use 100 sand bags to hold ours down (from Farmers Friend). They do a good job and won't damage the tarps. JM Fortier, Curtis Stone and lots of the market gardeners use tarps extensively and have YT Vids showing their use. I just buy bulk rolls and cut to size then use same tarp/same bed from then on. I will NEVER be without

As Danny pointed out that tiller is missing the rear shield. another thing that could cause the tiller to not dig deeper is the depth control for the 3 point arms.
I don't believe the wear on the tines were the fault. I wore out a set of tines and it still tilled just fine.

main thing is the set up and slow speed. the slower the better on unbroken ground.

First off part of that tiller was missing. The back cover was gone that lets the dirt get repulverized. Need to find a better tiller than that one for the job. I would use a small subsoiler or single chisle plow first then till. Hang in there we are getting wet this spring. See you soon girl.
