You have concerns about haunching underneath, so use a concrete vibrator, shoveling can miss a ton of voids. Also, where's your rebar for the base?

Never poured a manhole in my life just built it traditionally set ur channels on concrete build up around them so you have 100mm of concrete on top of your pipes coming into the manhole (stubs) then drop your ring on top and bench it after. That’s a lot of fucking around

I would be deleting this instructional video. Your Doghouse Manhole would not be acceptable for any jurisdiction I’ve worked in for the past 40 Years! A proper Doghouse or a True Poured in Place Base done with a Pouring Ring, would have to be completed with some form of Bonding method in order for the concrete to bond to the PVC Pipe. Your manhole would not pass a vacuum test. Also most jurisdictions require a Rebar mat under the pipe, Solid CMU (3 stacks of 8” x 16” x 8” or 4” high) installed perpendicular to the manhole wall, but the concrete Must have some method for bonding to the PVC Pipe or it will leak around the pipe. I have also always poured a 2” Slump so the concrete will immediately stand up better. A low slump mix also requires a Concrete Vibrator.
