How did I get the JAK2 genetic mutation? There are different theories, radiation, toxins, or something else. I have had some wonderful life experiences and with each of them I have had my share of difficulties that would fall into the theories. Who knows how I got it, now is my time to do something positive with it. I love the Will Smith video on Responsibility and Fault. This is a great lesson that can be applied across so many things in life.
Also the quote from Arthur Ashe has truly touched me and makes me want to be a better person and feel very blessed.

I am sorry you have it. It is so hard to fathom that these things can happen to any of us. I have Jak 2 as well I got diagnosed at 25 and now I am 26. We have to make the best of our life and live in the moment.

i also have jak 2 it caused blood clot in my liver and things got nasty but now i am fine i take warfarin and aspirin to keep my blood from clotting, As long as you keep checking your INR... and keep an eye on RBC and WBC count in your blood you are going to live full healthy life without any complication. stay strong .. may god bless you.

My partner has jak 2 mutation since 21. She is 33 now, we just had a baby and afterwards her spleen enlarged more. We are in the process now of doing a bmb to hopefully rule out myleofibrisis.
