Year 4: Maths: 3D Shape: Describe and identify the properties of 3D Shapes

In this tutorial I describe and identify 3D shapes. You will learn what a 3D shape is, how to recognise and describe common 3D shapes and be able to describe their various properties. 3D means three dimensional so these shapes have three dimensions. They have a length, a width and a height.

Sometimes 3D shapes can be described as a polyhedron, which means ‘a three dimensional shape with flat faces’. Your child will need to identify: a cube, a cuboid, a sphere, a cylinder, a hemi sphere, a cone, an octahedron and a dodecahedron.
