the neutrino particle was 'guessed' into existence! 😂

I think these three might be the most consistently fun trio of science explorers out there

I love the dynamic between a black swag astrophysicist, a funny comedian, and an gentle teacher who's unexpectedly funny, amazing way to teach people physics!

Enrico Fermi is my favorite physicist. I have buds who work in Fermi Lab. I hope to go there soon. Best work they ever done (as HVAC guys!). They had direct hands on G -2. To be able to say you helped on such an experiment is wonderful. Proud to know such people.

My favorite Fermi story is where he went to a talk by Alfven who was trying to convince people that there was a particular dispersion relation for what we now call Alfvén waves in plasmas. He had a terrible time until he gave a talk and Fermi said something like, of course you're right.

Thats what they really mean by "educated guess"

This a perfect balance. Keep doing it!

Brian Greene has the gift of explaining the most obscure concepts in particle physics in a way that even morons like me can have the impression they understand them.
Of course, when I dig deeper and ask a few questions, I’m totally lost, but that’s on me, not on him
Kudos to NdGT for bringing him over

More than just guessing. Reaching out into a swirling vortex of infinite possibilities and asking the universe what would need to be true in order to explain the observations they've been making.

And that's why only "geniuses" get 100% on the Dunning-Kruger test without even studying for it...

If these guys were science teachers in school we would be living in a utopia in the near future

Subatomic particles do not decay. They accelerate beyond the speed of light and therefore they are not detected.

This is absolutely outrageous — shame on them. Neutrinos were proposed by Wolfgang Pauli in 1930 while investigating the missing energy problem of radioactive beta decay and NOT by Enrico Fermi. How could they not know that, and call themselves physicists? They need to go back to school and get a real degree.

Chuck Nice is like the wholesome, intelligent version of Joe Rogan we all needed. ❤
