I was last summer in AMR hotel, fantastic place in Durres, next was Ksamil, amazing clear water, people very nice and food was awsome, Albania is beautiful country, greetings from Poland.

I've watched a lot of Albanian tourism content and everybody seems to say the same about Durres: don't stay longer than a day or two. Unfortunately the issue pertaining to hotel / resort building and beach chairs is only going to get worse. There is a 2.5 billion dollar project called Durres Yachts Marina that is slowly coming together, where they'll be building plenty of luxury hotels and residential buildings not far from where you guys were. I would probably recommend other places to people that don't want to pay for beach chairs in Albania. Places like Gjipe Beach are usually frequented by campers or people that are just there to appreciate Albania's raw nature. Durres caters to Albanian or Kosovar tourists who come on vacation and don't want to pay too much for the rather pricier (and prettier) southern coast. Anyways, great video :)!

We are here right now, the sunbeds are 600 lek for 2 beds and an umbrella, so not too much really. This is the way this beach is set up, the only area we have seen where there is available free sand space is right at the end of the resort, nearest the city where the river meets the sea, just before the army base.

Hi there, just wanted to let know that there are great spots in Durres (like “kepi i Rodones/Rodonit” and others) but one need a car to access them. The big beach is crowded for sure because Albanians and tourists makes a lot of people during week ends for sure, to feed and welcome correctly, like most are families. I know some are bothered by all the crowd but it’s just during 2 months and the reste of the time is pretty calm. Don’t know if u knew but Albania have welcomed 10millions visitors in 2023 (Brazil 8 millions just so one can have a idea), so of course it’s very busy in the summer.
And the Albanian diaspora is one of the biggest in the world, so again summer it’s when all Albanians immigrants come back to see their families of to get married haha.
With a car you can visite Albania better and access to all the hidden spots.

yeah the chairs on the sand have been a problem for years now but the goverment started a new project last week for the iliria beach where all the front of the beach will change and a new sidewalk and the sand will be 50% free of chairs and by the next summer 2023 will be ready and the projects looks preaty good in paper haha
