C’Mon C’Mon Quietly Wonders About The Entire World | Movie Review

Mike Mills and Joaquin Phoenix bring us something truly special with C’Mon C’Mon, the story of a journalist interviewing kids across the country. On paper, that premise may sound predictable, but the chemistry between Phoenix and Woody Norman on screen enlivens an otherwise quiet road drama by keeping the state of the world at large front and center.

Written and Directed by Mike Mills, C’Mon C’Mon sees a relationship between its two leads carry the film. Throughout Phoenix’s on screen work getting children to say interesting things about the world and their lives, doesn’t interfere with the story or get tiresome to be around. Instead, it speaks to something more challenging, what one generation can learn from another, and what they’re willing to engage with in the first place.

Omg IT FINALLY CAME OUT?! I was an extra in the New Orleans parade portion portion and got to dance right next to him! Both Joaquin Phoenix and Mike Mills are absolutely sweethearts and approachable people. Mike Mills introduced himself to EVERY single extra and remembered EVERYONES names. It was really special to see Joaquin do his THING.

Finally watched this film. Knowing that the interviewee kids were real, its sad to hear what we have to say. The weight that we are putting on them to "save the planet, " be better and not give room to fail is disastrous. This film is evidence of that. Kids shouldn't feel the stress that adults do. This film was very real, the director took an accurate pulse on this generation.

Saw this at Newport Beach film festival and it was stunning. It's slow and contemplative but in a fascinating way - especially if you have children or nephews/nieces/little cousins that you spend time with. I honestly think this will earn an Oscar nom as that is how good the film is (and based on the votes we were counting, everyone in the theater thought so too). It's by the same director that did Beginners and this film shares that films big heart. To go even deeper, this movie feels like the loss that the adults in the film Children of Men have experienced - the beauty of youth and their effect on all of us as we grow older. This movie stops and makes you appreciate that part of humanity we can sometimes take for granted

I mean, it's not Venom: Let There Be Carnage directed by Andy Serkis, starring Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson but it's still good

I saw it a few hours ago and wow did it knock my socks off. Not a dry eye in the house. Might be my favorite film of the year. Seek it out when it opens wide Thanksgiving weekend!

Maybe this has been mentioned: Jessie’s father wasn’t portrayed as “drug addled”.

I think this movie will "hit you" if you are a parent, or a surrogate parent, or a parent-figure or a mentor. I'm a dad, myself, by the way. Might not be easily relatable if you're single or if you're not yet thinking about having a kid. For the teens and pre-teens, I think those who would find this relatable are those kids who are deep thinkers, and sensitive but not expressive, and longing for more attention from their mom or dad.

wonderful review! The Debussy is beautiful but it is quite intrusive during the review. If you could adjust it the review would be perfect. Thank you
