I love Senator Franken. If you have watched him in hearings and on the senate floor, he is an excellent senator. He isn't just a celebrity who had nothing else to do. Actually, I didn't find him a great comedian - but he has a great sense of humor.

To everyone who does not know: Jimmy Kimmel is not fighting Trumpcare for himself. Jimmy Kimmel can afford health care. He is fighting this fight for the people who won't have adequate health care. Go back to when Jimmy spoke about his new born baby Billy who was born with a heart condition. It was a sad monologue, but Jimmy was able to pay for his baby's surgery and can afford any future surgeries. He then spoke about people who can't afford health care and people with pre-existing conditions.

I have a relative who had pretty much every major organ replaced by transplants and survived it all and lives on for decades. He ended up becoming a professor at a very famous university. I think you have to always take the chance if you think you can save someone and I would be happy for my tax dollars to deal with those bills for people.

These surgeons deserve to be rich, these insurance companies don't. Just do away with all that and splash out on a good public health system. America spends more tax dollars than any other country on its system. I think its just mathematically true that special interests are using healthcare as a giant cash grab. Doctors are pretty rich in my country and no one would ever be put in financial trouble with a health bill. Although compensation for lost work is pretty limited for things that are longer than a few days but too short term for disability benefits.
