it basically varies, the people who had it as an intro will love it, but people who played at after playing some older games consider it bullshit (not all, including me)

now ace combat assault horizon failed horribly at being an ace combat game. but it was good asf execpt the DFM and too much scripting. the graphics were top tier.

it really isnt though, it was a fresh new take project aces wanted to try out before continuing the regular series, it was fast-paced and action-packed. i understand not liking the forced dfm segments in the story but mp was alot of fun. im glad i was able to 100% the game and wouldnt mind playing it more to help friends

Bro, it's like people saying joint assault was a horrible PSP game for Ace combat just because it's not set in the strange universe does not make it bad. Joint assault in my opinion is better than horizon because it is the first one I ever played and then I went to horizon. I never played another one similar until I had a PC to play seven. Then I went back on the other ones

hello this is an AH defender speaking

it was by all means a good game. the gameplay was pretty smooth, the fights were super cool to look at, and there were a bunch of cool features in it that I think should be brought back (most notably the skin editor). yes, DFM exists, and there's a lot of scripting, but the game itself is still good - it's only a bad Ace Combat game.

there was some Reddit comment I saw forever ago that I'll horribly misquote - er, paraphrase: AH is a bronze medalist, which by any standard is pretty good, but will appear lackluster when compared to the silver and gold of other AC games
