Those leg kicks ain't no joke. I used to practice leg kicks with an amateur Muay Thai fighter and his kicks were so painful.

The pain comes from accurately hitting the thicker part of the tendon where the iliotibial band and tensor fasciae latae muscle tendon converge. Which is also the most sensitive part of the tendon. thus hurting when not having to put as much power. Just use a foam roller with spikes and roll against the lateral side of your leg while keeping it straight. The part where it hurts the most, that's where the money is.

I remember getting hit on a certain part of the thigh like that and it hurt like hell. It's that really small part where you can feel the bone and it doesn't take much force to get you reeling in pain. This kinda goes to show the precision of Tawanchai's kicks.
