Показать описание
The Cougar MRAP 4x4 .
is a 3-door, 3-ton, 4-wheel-drive, mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle with diesel engine. In addition to the driver and co-driver, the Cougar includes seats for 4 extra passengers and an automatic transmission.
The Cougar is fitted with twin air conditioning units (24,000/48,000 BTU/hour), NBC overpressure and filter protection, and an electric winch with a 9,000-pound capacity. The unprepared fording depth is 39 inches, with a 40-degree approach angle and a 50-degree departure angle. The Cougar is fitted with run-flat tire inserts, allowing it to go on and off-road. The C-17 is able to transport the Cougar-H via air.
Cougar-H armor protects against 7.62mm gunfire (the glass is 7.62mm multi-strike resistant.) The Cougar-H can withstand a 30-pound TNT charge under the front and rear axels and a 15-pound charge under the chassis center. Radiator, tires, battery compartment, gasoline tanks, engine, and transmission are ballistic-protected. These vehicles were made with the goal of maximizing passenger survivability against armed ambushes and conventionally laid mines. They were made with the goal of having good road speeds and perseverance (to allow for the long distances travelled, as well as lowered maintenance requirements because of their wheeled design).
