one of the best westerns i have seen for many years....as soon as i saw mccarty in that first scene digging and ribbing his lazy boy...and saw the way he squinted with that right eye....i knew he was a older William H Bonney.

he really captures the vibe of that famous billy the kid photo.

tim blake nelson is so dam good in this...deserved a oscar imho.

A very cool detail is that Henry uses a black powder gun while the others use modern smokeless powder guns. It's because Henry's gun is from his "Billy the Kid" days and smokeless powder wasn't invented yet for some years I believe.

Tim blake nelson is this generation’s best western actor. The cowboy action displayed is second to none this day and age. And watching a decrepit old father become an absolute wrecking ball to castle doctrine a crowd of thugs is more than satisfying.

I love the tomahawk kill...i grew up in the 60's in rural central east coast Florida, camping and trapping and tracking and hunting and carried one and got good with it and when I got to Vietnam in '69 as a U.S. Recon Marine I carried one with me there too....I prefered them over knives for both field work and hand to hand combat.
