As a radio personality and a podcast instructor, this is a pretty cool device. I like program able pads for intros, bumpers and ads. No mention of individual channel dynamics but it was a brief overview. Ryan is right, this will up your game when it comes to sounding professional.

I love my Rodecaster. It is a great solution for my current recording needs. Mix minus works so well. My only challenge: longer tracks saved to the trigger pads "break up" when recording to the SD card. Does not seem to do this when recording externally to USB/computer. The effect is a skip/jump effect on the triggered sound from the pad. I even tried to make the sounds smaller files (changing from WAV to MP3) and it still does this. Apart from this, the machine is an engineering marvel. It combines one large case of gear I used to haul into a unit that fits in a laptop case. Love it.

Really impressed by all the features of this- this is a podcaster’s delight!

Too many podcasters I know refuse the idea of an interface - this is a fun way to get them to reconsider 😂

Really, really impressed with this unique product. Indeed, the best solution for ours, thank you Rode. Don't forget to loan one to Podcast Age for a review and a box full of stickers.

I’d love to see the firmware updated to record in split multitrack. At this price point, that’s an expected feature.

Does anyone from Rode read this? If so, we are part of a podcaster private community/group and talk with each other and help each other out with tips, hardware suggestions, etc. I've been asked by that group to ask Rode if there are any plans at all to add some kind of multitrack output to this unit? If so, there's about 8 more sales just within this group that you'll probably make as soon as it hits the US market. Thanks.

Can you explain more about the red and green buttons on the bottom of the fader?
I think referred to Solo. Is it cueing?
is the red like and on off for that channel like in a broadcast console?
On off to the output or on off to the headphones only?

This is a great piece of equipment for podcasters.  Sure there are some probably some improvements and tweeks here and there that need to be done (like multi-track recording) but that's expected with new tech.  Thing is though, unfortunately this is not budget friendly for most podcasters.  Unless Rode is handing one out to you for free (testing on your channel of course) or your podcast has some pretty good backing with sponsors, this just isn't affordable for many out there.  TASCAM came up with a very affordable mini-studio for podcasters to get started with.  I'd like to see Rode put together the same type of thing and most can afford.  How about doing just a Rodecaster version without the Pro?  Knock out some of the options that the Pro version has to give some the opportunity not only to learn podcasting, but start one on an affordable level as well.  Of course this is just my 2 cents.  I still think this is an amazing product and is sure to make a positive impact on the podcasting community.  In my 13 years of podcasting, this seems like it might be one of the best pieces of equipment out there.  But I'll have to save up a bit for one before confirming that for myself.

With the color coded sound buttons... can you have multiple tracks linked to one button so they randomly play with each push of that same button?

I was about to buy this for our podcast, but early in our history we learned that being able to have each host on a separate track for editing is a must. Otherwise, if one host coughs or bumps his mic or anything else while the other is talking, you can't edit it out; on the other hand if each host is recorded to a separate track (or can even each be panned to the left and right channels of the stereo track) it is simple to edit out the cough or bump or anything else and not mess with the other host's audio. Almost every podcaster I know, even amateurs like us, records vocals on separate tracks so they can edit (unless they're using something like iPhones.) While multitrack recording is ideal (and it's puzzling why this doesn't have it, it seems obvious it needs it for its purpose!) even if they added the ability to pan one mic to the right side of the stereo track and another to the left side, you could at least do the editing with two speakers. As soon as some kind of multitrack is added, I'll buy this in a second and put my Soundcraft mixer away (and so will a lot of podcasters with whom I've discussed this new piece of equipment.)

If I wanted to power the unit in the field, what type of external battery should I need? Any idea if you are going to sell such accessory in the future? Thanks a lot. Great Unit by the way!
