Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Kyiv will not extend its gas transit contract with Russia. This agreement allowed Russia to transport gas across Ukraine to Europe, with a minimum annual transit volume of 40 billion cubic metres.

Some Ukrainian leader (not Zelensky) told Hungary that they will stop transfering Russian gas to the country.
Then Zelensky said that they will keep the gas flowing to Hungary (Slovakia, Austira) as per the contracts.
A Hungarian lawyer (speaking on Hungarian national TV) specialising in the energy industry said that if Ukraine stopped transiting the gas to Hungary they would break several laws and contracts, and if Hungary sues Ukraine they would easily win and Ukraine would have to pay. I bet this is why Zelensky does not try to cut Hungary off from cheap Russian gas any more.
